Almost the whole time I was editing these photos of Mike and Claire, I kept thinking, “They look so in love.” I’ve known Mike and Claire since their college days–they attended the same university I did, just several years later–and although I only know just a touch of their story, I know that they have both worked very hard to get to where they are today. Their dedication to each other is always evident every time we spend time together, but what shines through even more is how happy they are together. I’m really looking forward to being second shooter at their upcoming wedding this October with main photographer, Niki Penola, who shot the first half of their session earlier before moving to Florida.
I met up with Claire and Mike outside of Rembrandt’s coffee shop in the Bluff View Art District of Chattanooga, Tennessee, a city that holds a lot of memories for both of them. Rain had been in the forecast all day, and the humidity before the storm was bearing down on us. I was a little nervous that we wouldn’t have time before the thunderstorms hit to get in the photos they had planned, but Mother Nature held off just long enough, and Mike and Claire kept the energy level high throughout the session as we walked from the art district, to the Walnut Street Bridge, and finally to Clumpies ice cream shop.
Claire and Mike, you were so much fun to photograph. Enjoy the last few months of wedding planning, and see you soon up in Nashville!
